Stress & Burnout

Ongoing stress and burnout can leave you feeling depleted, overwhelmed, and disconnected from yourself and the things that once felt meaningful. You may notice irritability, exhaustion, difficulty concentrating, changes in sleep, or a sense of numbness or cynicism. Over time, chronic stress can make it feel as though you are constantly pushing through without enough rest, support, or space to recover.

In counselling, I approach stress and burnout through an Internal Family Systems perspective, where we explore the different parts of you that may be carrying pressure, responsibility, perfectionism, or fear of slowing down. These parts are often trying to help you cope or keep things together, even when their strategies are no longer sustainable. Together, we work to understand these patterns with compassion, strengthen emotional regulation, and build greater internal balance and safety.

Our work also focuses on reconnecting you with your needs, limits, and values, and exploring what rest, boundaries, and support might look like in a way that feels realistic and aligned for you. We move at a pace that honours your capacity, supporting you in shifting from survival mode toward greater clarity, resilience, and a more sustainable way of relating to work, relationships, and yourself.
