ABOUT MONICA CRAWFORD

Registered Clinical Counsellor in Vancouver

Hi, I’m Monica.
I’m so glad you’re here.

I (she/her) am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) who supports clients who feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. This might show up as mental health concerns like anxiety, depression, suicide ideation, relationship struggles, or lingering impacts of trauma. My goal is to create a space where you feel deeply seen, understood, and empowered to begin again.

My own healing journey keeps me hopeful for each and every one of my clients, regardless of what stage they are at in their healing and mental health wellness journey. What happened to you doesn’t have to be what defines you.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Although I’ve always felt passionately about psychology and mental health, I’m originally from a business and finance background.

I hold a Bachelor’s in Commerce from the University of Victoria and spent several years as a commercial lender for one of Canada’s big five banks both in Ontario and British Columbia. For all the folks grinding in high demand and high stress careers - I see you. While there were lots of stressors in that career, my favourite part was always working directly with my clients - getting to know them as humans, and acting as a support and trusted advisor on their journey.

In 2020, I left the financial sector to pursue a career in counselling, eventually earning a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from Adler University. Since this career shift, I have held a range of roles in the mental health field: counselling in private practice settings, supporting folks on crisis/suicide lines, supporting folks in inpatient mental health settings, and actings as a research assistant.
