Couples Counselling
Support for Couples
Couples counselling offers a space to slow down, understand what is happening between you and your partner, and work toward feeling more connected.
Many couples come in feeling stuck, discouraged, or unsure about the future. Therapy can help reduce distress, resolve specific challenges, and create meaningful lasting shifts in how you relate to one another. Some couples choose to recommit to their relationship in new ways, and others use counselling to gain clarity about next steps. There is no “right” outcome — the focus is on supporting both partners with honesty and care.
My work is grounded in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) and the Gottman Method; both are evidence-based approaches that focus on strengthening emotional connection, improving communication, and understanding patterns that keep you stuck.
Our first three sessions are spent getting to know you and your relationship: we begin together as a couple, followed by one individual session with each partner. From there, we all come together in the fourth session deepen our understanding of our and our partner’s feelings, to practice new ways of communicating, increase understanding and empathy, repair past hurts, and build closeness and collaboration.
